Welcome to the Cascade and North Western Railroad Fleet page.

The Cascade & North Western is a regional railroad located in the Northwest area of the United States. To make railroading on the C&NW unique we have broken operations into three eras.

For those who prefer old time railroading we have motive power, rolling stock and work orders tailored specificially for the Steam Era and a time when "Steam was King".

If you are looking for a modern feel to your railroad experience then you will probably find the Modern Era more to your liking. Longer trains, bigger cars and the flavor of merger railroads dominate. In this case you will probably want to "Make Mine Modern".

Finally, if you are the kind of person who wants it all then the Transition Era will be your cup of tea. During this era it would not be uncommon to see steam alongside named passenger trains such as the Cascadian being pulled by highly polished "E Units". On the same run you will likely pass early freight locomotives such as the GP-9 and the SD24. This combination is designed to provide you with "The Best of Both Worlds".

The locomotives and rolling stock on the following pages represent our fleet and the appropriate era for each is noted. In the upper left hand corner of each image you will find "S/T/M" representing "Steam/Transition/Modern". The appropriate era will appear in black and inappropriate eras will be grayed out.
