Our World
As you may already know, our world is based on the ADFRR created by Robert Reedy. This is the only route that we utilize but it is a highly improved version. The C&NW contains significantly more trackage and industries than the original ADFRR. In addition many small details have been included for more realistic operations. Some of the new and exciting improvements that you will notice on the C&NW are speed limit signs that you can actually read from the cab of your locomotive as you pass them. Along with the speed limit signs you will find signs identifying the track that you are on. There are signs to denote the transition points between Districts and Divisions. Station signs actually denote the station name and the signs are of a consistant design just like in the real world. There are C&NW "No Trespassing" signs on bridge approaches and yard limit signs. All signs shown below are actual size as they were recorded from the sim.

As you travel along the C&NW you will notice MOW workers keeping the grade in tip top shape. Unlike other routes though they will not be found in the same place every time that you pass. In addition we have included little vignettes such as automobile accidents and emergency helicopters. There are numerous animated objects including cranes, aircraft, paragliders and more.

One of the first things that you will notice is that the C&NW is populated. There are people on the station platforms in the yards and appropriately placed around the industries. This route is alive and it looks good!

Speaking of industries one of the first things that was done was to create more industries and industrial trackage and sidings to service these new industries. Prieger Coal Company has been added near Ada.

Near Monkeys Eyebrow a complete steel complex has been installed. Trains will move back and forth between Preiger Coal and Foss Steel Works. There are scrap metal collection points all along the route to supply raw material for the steel plant.

There are new interchanges at Castle Rock, Cutters Valley, North Fork and South Nuggett. The C&NW has interchange agreements with BNSF, Union Pacific, Canadian Pacific, the Oregon Western and others. BNSF and Union Pacific unit trains will transit our system from Nuggett to Ada and return. Canadian Pacific will deliver primarily forest products to the interchange at Valley Mining for delivery on and off system.
New approaches have been installed at a number of branches and sidings to facilitate loading and unloading. Numerous team track unloading points are included. A wye has been installed at BWF Mining to allow train departures to proceed either east or west.
Many of these changes are keyed to the World Object Level Slider. Engineers with high end equipment will be able to take advantage of all of the improvements. Those with older computers will be able to lower the World Object Level Slider and a few of the detail items will be removed allowing for an increase in fps. Continued reductions will remove additional items to allow all engineers to enjoy the best that their computer is capable of displaying.
Almost all track, branches, sidings and wyes are now labeled to improve navigation for those that write and those that run our work orders. Some portions of the route have already been mapped and more will follow as quickly as the mapping department can survey all of the changes.
